One of the easiest way to promote your service or product is by email marketing. We are spoil for choice as there are many email marketing services available out there. But why pay if you can do it yourself? Here are some useful tips. First off, how to collect a healthy number of emails for your database.
Embrace spam - By this I did not mean the type that told you just won USD 1 million rather emails forwarded by friends. Forwarded emails usually contain plenty of emails of past recipients of that email. Collect it
Use search engine - Pick any search engine. Yahoo and Google? Fine then. It a handy tool but can be time consuming. Type " *@putsomethinghere.com " and you can see bunch of emails with that extension pop up. Be sure of the URL of the company / organization that you are searching for.
Use P2P tools - Ever heard of Limewire? Apart from downloading movie or music, these tools also allow you to browse other people hard drive. Search "emails, email or *.wab, *.vcf, or *.csv ". This is like fishing. Depends on luck but hey, that's where the thrill is right?
Exchange address book with friends - Why don't I think of that! Just find friends with similar interest and wave length as you and exchange or ask if you can use their contacts. Imagine, if one people have 1000 contacts. If 5 people? You do the math.
Send emails to groups rather to individual - To save time, don't just send emails to individual but also to Groups, such as Yahoo Groups or Google Groups. You save time and the group member is always expending.
After we have accumulate a healthy database, you can start sending email now, but here some advice.
Be consistent but don't over do it - People will easily get annoyed and ignore you the next time you send your email. Maybe one a month or when you have an important product or important announcement, then you start sending emails.
Catchy title - Short, sweet and catchy tittle to entice the receiver to open the email
Include hyperlink- Don't write too long and detail about the product. Make it compact and include hyperlink to your website so reader can go and read the rest by themselves.
Include unsubscribe option - If you are using mailing list or email marketing tool, give the recipient an option to unsubscribe from receiving more email. This is a good feature to keep then from being force to receive something that they did not like.

One of the thing that we can't avoid during our studying and working time is making a presentation. I'm sure some of us dreaded this task but once in a while, your superior will throw you a task and ask you to present it the following week.
I can understand if a student's slides were cramped with thousand of annoying moving graphics and small, impossible to read texts. Don't worry. You are not alone.
While on the flip side, Steve Jobs was seen to use less images. The background color also tend to be dark and this will lead the audience more on the content of the slides rather then other annoying details. You can read more about it here.

Before Internet Explorer, there was Netscape Navigator, a browser that was the reason millions of internet users stay-up all night surfing the internet. It was named as the number one technology-related product of all time by PC World. Indeed, knowing for sure the internet is the next big thing after personal computer, Bill Gate, being a savy entrepreneur (during those days), built his own browser and the rest, as they say, is history. Well, can history be re-written? Netscape is trying to do just that.
Netscape Navigator 9 was released yesterday with heavy emphasis on social integration. Check out their website for more screenshoots .

Six Apart is a company dedicated to make good blogging software and services. They have Vox, Live Journal , Moveable Type and Type Pad. All of these services are decent enough with brilliant functions, but unlike Blogger and Wordpress, it allow limited customization by user. With the released of Movable Type 4, Six Apart have decided to go open source. It is the right thing to do because of 'limited sociability' of their current version is a turn off to majority of personal bloggers. but they will not abandon the commercial version.

I'm sure you have read the title above few times before. In newspaper, internet and magazines. There are even courses about it. But does it really tell you the whole deal? I mean, come on, just pick up a book in any bookshop with the above sub-title and you will only be told the same old things. Marketing, don't give up, be positive and so forth. Duh. Even my local sundry shop owner can tell me that.
Is that it? I guess not. So here are some of the things they forgot to mention but still selling like hot cakes for gullible commoners like us.
1. Selling e-book.
I am sure we all have visited websites welling e-book. Usually the book will help you to generate revenue in few simple steps, complete with buyer testimonial. Is is true? Although some of are legit, there is a trick behind this.
E-book is actually pdf book. Okay, you already know that. What not all of us know, majority of theses e-book are not originally written by the seller, rather it was only a copy of old books written by other people, be it on management or self motivation. There are lots of free, royalty-free books on the internet that have been scanned into pdf format. It have not copyright and these Internet entrepreneur is exploiting these loopholes to make profit. You can download thousand of e-book from here, here and here. These are just sample, just google and you will be amazed on how many free e-books that you can download from the internet these days.
2. Selling pamphlets and brochures.
Same as e-book, there are also people that make money by scanning free travel brochures and pamphlets and then put it up on the internet to be sold at a certain fees.
3. Buying domains.
Majority of internet entrepreneur have probably tons of websites and domain names. Some of them have hundreds, even thousands. They did not just rely of just one or two websites to generate money. Domain names are like virtual property market, smart people will know what domain name is hot or will attract visitor. There are few tricks on how to buy domain name. Internet entrepreneur will either buy interesting-sounding names, old domains that are put up for auction or domains with typo mistake, for example 'yehoo' instead of 'yahoo'.
4. Be a speaker.
Have you guys attended the course 'how to be internet millionaire' or some sort? and I bet you have to fork out thousands of your hard earn money to hear 80% things that you already knew? Well, the fees are a handsome income for the speakers, which conduct classes in various capacity few times a months. These classes are soo popular, a guy telling me he have to stand at the far end of the corner in this particular hall because of the huge turnout. So, that's how to make money from the internet & become soo rich!
Of course, without smart marketing and some SEO skill, you will still not able to make money even with the information above. One thing for sure, there is no short cut if you want to be successful.
